Chicken hearts are quite tender despite their small size, and they can be prepared in a flash; simply pan-frying them for five minutes and supper will be done.
Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 10 mins
Total Time 20 mins
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken hearts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt or ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped

Instructions

  • To prepare the chicken hearts, place them in a large bowl along with the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cumin.
  • You may use a big spoon or your hands to mix all of the ingredients together, being sure to cover the hearts with the oil and spices.
  • Around three minutes should be spent heating up a big, heavy frypan over medium-high heat.
  • Add in the chicken hearts that have been seasoned. Cook for about 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned and well cooked through. In the event that the pan gets too hot, turn the heat down to medium.
  • The hearts should be distributed evenly across the four plates. They are ready to be served when drizzled with the pan juices and garnished with minced parsley.

– Are chicken hearts healthy for you?

Protein, zinc, iron, and B vitamins are just some of the minerals that may be found in abundance in chicken hearts. Consuming organ meats such as chicken hearts is one of the best ways to support sustainable agriculture and reduce the amount of food that is wasted. The best part about them is that they are simple to make at home and may be a savory addition to a diet that covers all the bases.

Tastes Just Like: Dark flesh chicken. The flavor of chicken hearts is precisely what one would anticipate it to be. They have a chewy texture, a pungent odor, and a somewhat metallic flavor. Although chicken hearts and gizzards are typically sold in the same packaging in the meat section, it is possible to purchase chicken hearts on their own in separate packs.

How good are chicken hearts for you?

Vitamin B12, a vital element that plays an important role in the creation of red blood cells, DNA synthesis, and maintaining healthy nerves, is notably abundant in chicken hearts ( 2 , 3 ). They also contain a significant amount of zinc, which is an essential mineral for the regulation of blood sugar levels, the proliferation of cells, and the healing of wounds ( 4 ).

In most cases, the only seasonings I add are salt, pepper, and a touch of garlic powder. If you like, right before I fry them up, I’ll give them a light dusting of flour, and that gives them a little bit of crispness.

Fried Chicken Livers & Hearts

Description Breasts get much too much attention. Everything revolves on the contents of the package. The next time you're in the mood for a delectable treat, give fried chicken livers and hearts a go. You won't be disappointed. They are an excellent source of the nutrients iron, protein, and testosterone. Indeed, what you heard was correct! Testosterone. Consume this dish with the right man. and it's possible that you'll wind up becoming the delectable dessert...

Cook Time 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Grapeseed Or Peanut Oil For Frying
  • 1 pound Chicken Livers And Hearts
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 4 pinches Sea Salt
  • 4 ounces weight Hard Cheese, Like Manchego

Instructions

  • When selecting chicken organs, please make sure they come from a reputable organic farm and adhere to the organic standards. They should be washed in a colander, and then allowed to partially dry while the dredging is being prepared.
  • In a big pan, heat 2 tablespoons of peanut or grapeseed oil to a moderate temperature. These oils are resistant to greater temperatures and won't catch fire as easily as others might. When the oil has reached the desired temperature, it will become less thick and more spread out in the pan.
  • Flour, salt, and finely shredded cheese should be mixed together in a small dish. Any kind of hard cheese should do the trick. My personal favorite cheese is Manchego, but you could also try Comté, Gruyere, or Parmesan if you want.
  • After the livers and hearts have been dusted in the flour mixture and well coated, transfer them to the pan. The oil should make a sizzling sound, but it should not splutter. If it is sputtering, simply reduce the heat to where it is just beginning to sizzle. Cook for approximately 5 minutes on each side, or until it has a browned color that you want. Wait until they have dried on paper towels, then taste one of them before adding any more salt.

Do you soak liver in milk before frying?

Put the liver in a dish or bowl and cover it with milk. Leave it there for 30 to 60 minutes. This is a crucial stage in the process of eliminating the liver’s characteristic bitter taste. After liberally seasoning the liver with salt and pepper, set it aside at room temperature while you finish preparing the other components of the dish. The liver should be patted dry.

How long should you deep fry chicken livers?

Heat the oil over moderately high heat until it reaches a temperature of 350°F on a deep-fry or instant read thermometer. Working in batches, place breaded livers in the hot oil and fry, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp, 3-4 minutes per side.
