Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds whole chicken
  • 4 quarts water
  • ¼ cup chicken broth base
  • 2 stalks celery roughly chopped
  • 1 small onion diced
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • 12 ounces dried egg noodles see notes
  • 10 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Instructions
 

  • In a sizable stockpot, combine the chicken, water, chicken base, celery, onion, and parsley. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and then cover.
  • 2 to 3 hours of simmering. The flavor of the broth will improve with the amount of time the chicken is simmered.
  • Remove the chicken from the liquid with care, then separate the meat from the bones. Bite-sized chunks should be chopped or shred.
  • Through a strainer with fine mesh, pass the broth.
  • 4 cups of the strained broth should be added back to the pot and brought to a boil.
  • Turn off the heat, cover the saucepan, and add the egg noodles and chicken shreds.
  • Stir the noodles about every ten minutes while letting them sit for 30 minutes.
  • Check to see if the noodles are done. Restart cooking the noodles for 1-2 minutes or until they are soft if they are not fully cooked.
  • Stir the noodles with the cream of chicken and butter until the butter has melted. To taste, add salt and pepper to the food.
  • Serve right away or keep covered in the pan until ready to serve. These may easily keep warm in the pan for around 30 minutes.

Notes

We use the tiny bags of Amish-style egg noodles. Smaller companies typically produce them in plastic bags with zip closures at the top. They are also available on Amazon.

  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups Fresh or Frozen Broccoli
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Arrowroot or some other thickener of your choice
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 - 2 cups Shredded Chicken I used my canned chicken which is the shredded chicken and broth, all in one quart!
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 4 ounce can of Mushrooms or can use fresh too
  • Red or Green Bell Pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese or whatever you have on hand for the top

Instructions
 

  • Noodles should be cooked as directed once water is brought to a boil. Add the box of noodles and the fresh broccoli once the water has boiled. 1 1/2 to 2 cups of fresh broccoli should be used. In a single large stock pot, cook the broccoli and noodles simultaneously.
  • When they are finished, or after the specified number of minutes, drain them. Your broccoli will be perfectly cooked!
  • Use the same stockpot to melt 1/4 cup of butter while the noodles and broccoli are draining in a strainer. As soon as the butter has melted, add 2 T. of arrowroot powder. Combined, stir to create a smooth sauce.
  • Cook this mixture on low to medium heat until it thickens, adding 2 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of cream if needed.
  • Add 1 to 2 cups of chicken that has been shredded once the sauce has thickened.
  • Add 1/4 cup of diced pepper and the pieces of canned (or fresh) mushrooms. To taste, add salt and pepper.
  • Add the drained noodles and broccoli back into the large stockpot once this sauce has all combined. Stir to combine. The sauce can appear a little thin at first, but as the dish is cooked in the oven, it will thicken up well and become perfectly smooth.
  • Pour into a casserole or 9 × 13 pan that has been buttered. On top, sprinkle 1/4 to 1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy this delicious casserole!

  • 8 c. chicken broth
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 lb. noodles
  • 2 c. cooked chopped chicken
  • 2 c. sweet corn (whole kernel or creamed)
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 - 1 c. chopped carrots
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 Tbs. minced dried onion or 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 3/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. seasoned salt

Instructions
 

  • You will need to cook some chicken if you don't already have any.
  • Butter needs to be melted in a big pot. Add the carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Several minutes of sautéing over medium heat.
  • 1/2 to 1 cup of chopped carrots, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 tablespoon of minced dry onion, or 1/4 cup of chopped onion, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Seasonings, water, and chicken broth should be added. up to a boil.
  • 8 cups of chicken broth, 4 cups of water, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 3/4 teaspoon of seasoning salt
  • Noodles are added; stir. For about 15 minutes, allow it to simmer, uncovered. (Depending on the sort of noodles you use, this time may change. You can find the cooking time on your noodle packet.)
  • Noodles, 1 pound
  • Return the mixture to a boil after adding the corn and cooked chicken. Serve.
  • 2 cups of cooked chopped chicken, 2 cups of whole or creamed sweet corn

Notes

You can add or remove whatever vegetables you like to this dish because to its adaptability. And feel free to add more water or broth if you prefer your soup to be more brothy. Noodles absorb more broth the longer they are left to sit. But even after it has finished cooking, you can always add more liquid.
For chicken broth, you can use chicken broth base or bouillon diluted with water.
This recipe yields a substantial quantity, and leftovers are excellent. However, you can freeze part of it for later use if you're only feeding a couple of people. It should thaw overnight in the fridge before being heated.
Two individuals have commented that one pound of noodles is excessive. We prefer a lot of noodles in our noodle soup. However, feel free to reduce the amount of noodles if you prefer your noodle soup with more liquid and fewer noodles.

  • Chicken
  • 1 3- to 4- pound chicken roasted (a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken is ideal!)
  • Waffles
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons 2 ounces; 57 grams unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk any fat percentage
  • 1 cup 120 grams unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Gravy
  • 4 tablespoons 2 ounces; 57 grams unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup 30 grams unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken stock or broth
  • 1/4 cup half and half or whole milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • To make bite-sized pieces, remove the flesh from the roasted chicken and cut or shred it. Until assembly and serving are done, keep heated in a 250° oven.
