Chicken Pillow

Cook Time 20 mins
Total Time 20 mins
Servings 1 people

Ingredients

  • 2 small chicken breasts 1-1 ½ cups chopped chicken
  • 3- ounces of cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 8-ounce package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1-2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs

Instructions

  • Turn the oven on to 400 degrees. Spray non-stick cooking spray onto the baking sheet. Put the chicken on a sheet, and then season it with garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper that has been coarsely crushed. Bake the chicken until it is completely done. When the chicken is finished cooking, reduce the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cube the chicken and cut it into little pieces.

  • Once the crescent roll container is opened, two of the triangles should be pressed together to form a rectangle. Combine the seams by pressing them together. In the middle of the rectangle piece of dough, place a tiny portion of the chicken mixture. Wrap the chicken mixture in the dough, and then press the edges together to seal. Put the ingredients on the baking sheet. Repeat the process with the remaining chicken mixture and dough.
  • Brush the tops with the melted butter, and then sprinkle them with the bread crumbs.
  • Prepare in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until a golden brown color is achieved.

Can you spray apple cider vinegar on chicken?

On very hot days, or whenever they notice a few symptoms of mites or lice on their chicks, some Chicken Ladies put a few drops of apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle and give their girls a little misting with it.

Can you spray apple cider vinegar on smoked chicken?

After you have seasoned the chicken, place it on the grill (on the side facing away from you if you are using a charcoal grill), cover it, and let it cook for an hour. After an hour has passed, a little mist of apple cider vinegar or apple juice should be applied to the bird. Spray the seasoning softly about a few inches above the chicken rather than directly onto it or too near to it.

What does apple juice do when smoking meat?

The addition of apple juice to your marinade will lend your ribs a flavor that is both sweet and sour, which works wonderfully with the pork. Because it is not as acidic as many of the other ingredients that are typically used in marinades, the ribs may be submerged in the solution for a longer period of time, which results in an even more wonderful end product.

Should you flip brisket?

When you flip the brisket, you ensure that both sides of the meat receive an equal amount of heat. If the brisket is allowed to remain in the same position during the smoking process, an unequal portion of it will dry out simply due to the fact that the airflow inside the smoker is not uniform. In an ideal situation, you should turn and flip your brisket at least once while it is cooking.

4.CHICKEN PILLOWS

CHICKEN PILLOWS

Recipe for homemade chicken pillows that are both fluffy and flavorful, created from scratch. These are sure to become a hit in your home!
Prep Time 40 mins
Cook Time 20 mins
Total Time 1 hr
Servings 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 batch of Soft Garlic Knots
  • FILLING:
  • 2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened (I use light)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 stalks celery finely diced
  • 1 tsp dry minced onion
  • 1/2 cup salted roasted cashews coarsely chopped
  • OPTIONAL SAUCE:
  • 4 tsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream light or fat free works fine

Instructions

  • After the dough has been prepared, cover it and put it aside.
  • To make the filling, place all of the ingredients in a mixing dish and toss them together until they are completely incorporated.
  • Take a little portion of the bread dough and roll it into a circle on a floured surface (mine were about 5" across).
  • Put a generous helping of the filling in the middle, and then wrap the dough around it to enclose it. Pinch the edges together to seal them, and then arrange them, seam side down, on a baking sheet that has been oiled or lined with a silpat.
  • Repeat with the rest of the dough and the filling.
  • Bake for approximately 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
  • In a pot, melt the butter, then whisk in the flour until it is combined. This will produce the sauce. Mix the milk, bouillon, salt, and Worcestershire sauce together with a whisk. Cook while stirring over a heat setting of medium until the mixture becomes thick and bubbling.
  • To get rid of the flavor of the flour, boil the mixture for at least one minute. After adding the cheese and sour cream, stir the mixture until the cheese is melted. As an accompaniment to the chicken bundles, serve.

Notes

Because the sauce is not something that my children particularly enjoy eating with these, I often do not make it. They are delicious when reheated and may be served in the style of a sandwich if you like.

What do you spray brisket with?

One of the most common components of brisket spray is apple juice, which is often mixed with either water or a number of additional components. Another excellent option is vinegar made from apple cider (see Using Apple Cider Vinegar Spray For Brisket, below). Because of its more subdued flavor, red wine vinegar is the ingredient of choice for some cooks.

Why does my brisket have no bark?

If the brisket has very little or no bark at all, this is typically an indication that the atmosphere within the smoker was excessively humid. When the brisket is wrapped during the smoking process, it presents another manifestation of the same issue since doing so allows the meat to produce steam within the package.

5. Buffalo Chiken Pilows

Buffalo Chicken Pillows

The Buffalo Chicken Pillows are crescent rolls that have been stuffed with buffalo chicken that is both creamy and spicy. They are usually a family favorite supper dish that can be produced in only 30 minutes using easy ready-to-use ingredients like frozen crescent rolls, dry spices, cooked chicken, and cream cheese. Additionally, the soft pillows are filled with a warm creamy chicken combination.
Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 12 mins
Total Time 22 mins
Servings 8 people

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or chopped
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 cans 8 oz each refrigerated crescent rolls

Instructions

  • Put the oven on to preheat at 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet for the cookies by lining it with parchment paper, tin foil, or just spraying it gently with cooking spray.
  • Put the unwrapped cream cheese in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave, and heat it for thirty to forty seconds. It ought to have a very gentle and comforting feel about it.
  • Mix together in a bowl the cream cheese that has been melted, the chicken, the buffalo sauce, the garlic powder, the parsley, and the red pepper flakes (if using). Make sure everything is thoroughly combined by stirring it with a wooden spoon or a rubber spatula.
  • The crescent dough should be unrolled, and then, working one at a time, a spoonful (1-2 teaspoons) of the buffalo chicken mixture should be placed at the bigger end of each crescent.
  • The crescent may then be wrapped around the chicken by rolling it up and tucking in the sides as you go. Pinch the seams together, and then lay the dough, seam-side down, on the cookie sheet that has been prepared.
  • Continue working with the crescent rolls that are left.
  • Bake for another 12 to 14 minutes, or until the tops and edges of the pillows have a golden brown color. Immediately serve after cooking.

Notes

Dish Size and Nutritional Information: This recipe creates a total of 16 buffalo chicken pillows, which is enough to feed 8 people. Each serving consists of 2 buffalo chicken pillows.
There are many different kinds of Buffalo sauce available at the grocery, and some of them are hotter than others. The brand of buffalo sauce made by Sweet Baby Ray's is my favorite, but you can also try Frank's red hot sauce or one of the generic grocery versions; either one will do an excellent job.
Level of Spiciness: Because they are made with buffalo sauce, they will naturally have a little bit of a kick to them. If you prefer a milder flavor, decrease the amount of buffalo sauce to a quarter cup and leave out the crushed red pepper altogether. If you like a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes in the recipe from a half teaspoon to a full teaspoon. When I make these, the only change I make to the recipe is that I leave out the flakes of red pepper and keep everything else precisely the same.
Crescents: For this recipe, you will need the crescent roll size that comes in a package containing 8 counts. There will be eight crescents contained within each tube, making the total number of crescents in both tubes sixteen.

What happens if you wrap brisket too early?

If you wrap the brisket too soon, you won’t obtain the lovely, crispy bark on the outside of the meat. Because wrapping will cause the bark to become more pliable, one piece of advice is to put the brisket back in the smoker without wrapping it before you slice it.

Do you need a water pan for brisket?

The water pan plays an important role in maintaining a consistent temperature within the smoker, which is necessary to avoid overcooking the brisket. Additionally, the dampness prevents the meat from drying up and makes the bark more pliable. Because using this approach carries the danger of the meat being steamed instead of smoked, we do not advocate using it unless you have a smoker that is particularly temperamental.
