What is chicken tocino made of?
Brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, and whatever meat you like best go into making tocino. Make use of boneless chicken fillets so that the sweet marinade has an easier time penetrating and coating each juicy piece. When you choose boneless meats, you won’t have to worry about finding a way to dispose of the bones.
What kind of meat is best for tocino making?
Tocino, the Spanish word for “bacon,” is most commonly linked with the pork belly but may be cooked with any other cut of pork you desire.

How do you make Purefoods chicken tocino?
Tocino slices should be cooked in a shallow pan for the finest results. Cover the pan after adding the 1/4 cup of water. Hold over heat until liquid is gone, then turn heat up to medium-high. Then, drizzle with oil and deep-fry until an instant-read thermometer registers 1650 F.
Do you fry or boil tocino?
If you’re using a stovetop, you may pan-fry the tocino directly in hot oil, but I recommend first boiling it in water until it’s fork-tender. Simmer the meat in enough water to cover it until it’s soft and the liquid has been absorbed. To achieve a golden brown and caramelized flavor, add oil and heat while stirring often.
3.CHICKEN TOCINO
CHICKEN TOCINO
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tbsp banana ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp achuete powder optional
- 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breast
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- water as needed
Instructions
- Mix pineapple juice, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, salt, and achuete powder in a large bowl. Make sure everything is thoroughly mixed by stirring. Toss in the chicken and rub the meat to coat it completely. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least a day.
- Transfer the chicken and any remaining marinade to a large skillet. Put on high heat until it boils, then turn it down to a simmer for about 2 minutes. Just add water until it reaches the desired level. When the liquid has been reduced by half and the chicken is done cooking, add the oil and stir gently.
- Keep stirring the food every few minutes as it cooks. To achieve a brown and caramelized flavor, cook for a long enough time. Accompany with fried eggs and garlic fried rice.

Can I cook tocino frozen?
To prepare frozen tocino, first defrost it. Place Tocino in a saucepan and fill with water until it is just below the Tocino. Keep simmering until the meat is soft, about a half an hour. When the internal temperature of the beef reaches 165 degrees F, remove from heat, drain any excess water, and add cooking oil if preferred.
What do you serve with tocino?
Tocino goes wonderfully with both garlic rice and tinapa fried rice. The smoked fish flakes in this fried rice dish add a salty note that can be mitigated by the sweetness of the classic tocino topping. When combined with tocino, atsara is an even more formidable meal.
